FRFTP publishes free, practical writing about learning and about work — the two things that keep pulling on each other. It is read in English and in Portuguese, and nothing on it is behind a sign-up.
What is here
- Skills for study and work — communication, active listening, handling conflict, career transitions, internships that are worth doing, and what e-learning is and is not good at.
- Art education, in Portuguese — drawing, oil painting, clay sculpture, photography and art history, written for people teaching themselves rather than for a studio course.
- Small business and everyday technology — a shorter strand on opening a business, advertising, and the hardware and software people actually use.
- Short science explainers — the reading-for-curiosity end of the site: the discoveries, missions and studies worth knowing about in a page.
How this site works
- Time is stated, not implied. Any advice to “learn a skill” is worthless without hours attached to it. That is why the study planner exists, and why it also shows the cost of the weeks you will miss.
- Nothing is sold here. There is no course, no coaching and no training package behind these pages. Where an article recommends a method, that is all it is.
- Everything is dated. Some articles are several years old and describe tools or rules that have changed since. The date is on every page for that reason.
- Two languages, not one translated twice. The English and Portuguese sections cover different ground. Use the language switch in the header to move between them.
Who writes it
Articles are published by the FRFTP editorial team rather than under individual bylines. Nobody here is a licensed careers adviser, a therapist or an accredited teacher, and nothing on the site is professional advice for your particular situation — it is general writing about how learning and work tend to go.
