This page describes what happens to data when you read frftp.org. It is short because the site does little: it publishes articles and it runs one calculator in your browser.
Who we are
The site is frftp.org. Enquiries, including about anything on this page: [email protected].
What is collected
- Server logs. Like any web server, ours records the request: IP address, time, the page asked for, the referring page and the browser’s user-agent string. These are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and they are not combined with anything else.
- Comments are off. Commenting is disabled site-wide, so no name, email address or comment content is collected here.
- No contact form. The contact page publishes an email address. If you write to it, we hold your message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you.
- The study planner. It runs entirely in your browser. The hours and dates you type are never sent to the server and are not stored anywhere; reloading the page clears them.
Cookies
Reading the site does not require you to accept any cookie. Cookies are set only if you log in as an editor, and the caching layer may set a technical cookie so that a logged-in editor is served an uncached page. There is no advertising cookie and no cross-site tracking pixel.
Requests to other companies
- Google Fonts. The typefaces are loaded from Google’s font service, so your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which reveals your IP address to Google. This is the only third party involved in rendering an ordinary page.
- Embedded content. Some articles embed material from other sites (video, for example). Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other site, including any tracking it does.
- Outbound links. Some links on this site are paid placements. They are ordinary links: following one takes you to that company’s own site, where its own privacy policy applies.
How long things are kept
Server logs are rotated and discarded on the hosting platform’s normal schedule. Email correspondence is kept while it is useful for answering you and deleted afterwards.
Your rights
If you have written to us, you can ask what we hold, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it — write to [email protected]. Because the site sets no identifying cookie and asks readers for nothing, there is usually nothing to return for someone who has only read the site.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version replaces this page. Material changes will be described at the top of it.
